The Desert is an alternative path to The Alley in Chapter 1. It features open maps with few chokepoints, testing your ability to manage long-range engagements.

Key Hazards

  • Quicksand: Tiles that root units and slowly pull them under (instant kill if fully submerged).
  • Heat Waves: Global effect that deals minor damage to all units if they don't end their turn near shade or water.
  • Sandstorms: Reduces vision range for all units by 50%.

Notable Enemies

  • Sand Worms: Ambush predators that burrow underground.
  • Scorpions: High agility enemies that inflict poison.
  • Mummies: Slow but extremely durable undead units.

Boss: Zodiac

The constellation-shifting cat, Zodiac, rules the sands. Its attacks change based on the current astrological sign.

  • Mage: Can exploit the open terrain for massive AOE spells.
  • Druid: Summons can serve as distractions for burrowing enemies.
